School is back and typically so is the rain! If you feel like you look like a drowned rat by the time you reach the office, this blog has you covered. Here are my top 10 tips to look stylish from the school run to the office, regardless of the humidity!
Start with your shower. Rinse your hair with as cool water as you can stand. This will cause the cuticles to lie flat.
Help fight the frizz by avoiding towel drying and brushing your hair. Both of these will cause cuticles to stand up, starting the frizzing process before you even leave the house!
Apply a leave in conditioner or hair oil to nourish the strands.
Build volume from the roots, especially if you have fine hair. Use a strong hold mousse or spray and work into the roots before drying.
Try a different drying technique such as drying with a diffuser, to create a softer wavy look especially if you have naturally wavy hair! Spray with a sea salt spray to give your hair texture and hold.
If you can't live without a sleek blow dry, blow dry your hair as quick as possible as soon as you're out of the shower. The longer your hair is air drying, the more likely it is to frizz in the rain. Use a smoothing serum and dry in smaller sections to ensure you smooth every strand.
Finish with an anti-humidity hairspray. This will lock your style in and prevent moisture getting to the strands and causing the frizz!
If you suffer with dry or dehydrated hair, try to resist washing your hair when it's a humid day. It will only strip your hair further and leave it frizzier! Reach for a dry shampoo and make the blow dry go that extra day.
Alternatively learn a quick updo. Think a sleek ponytail or a messy bun. Use an old toothbrush sprayed with a strong hairspray to tame any flyaways.
If you're very prone to frizz, be prepared and carry a serum with you to manage your hair throughout the day.
