Why Tubing Mascara needs to be the next thing you try!

Do you have fine eyelashes like me? If so, then you'll know that the only thing that keeps them curled up is waterproof mascara! But then the evening comes and getting it off can be a bloody nightmare. Enter... Tubing Mascaras!

What is a Tubing Mascara?

Tubing mascaras work differently to normal mascaras. A normal mascara will coat the lashes in pigment but tubing mascaras wrap each individual lash in tube-like polymers that are water resistant, hence the name 'Tubing Mascara' (makes sense now, right?). They are perfect for those who need a hard working product and the lengthening properties, make them ideal for shorter lashes.

Here's the Magic...

Because each lash is surrounded by its own 'tube' it makes your lashes look longer and thicker, i.e. frigging amazing! If that isn't enough, it doesn't smudge all day AND if you need one more reason, it is literally the easiest product to remove. Just soak a cotton pad or flannel in warm water and it ease it off. No need for eye makeup remover.

How do I apply it?

Absolutely the same way as standard mascara.

How do I know if I have a Tubing Mascara?

To determine this, you'll need to check two things:

1. Check the ingredients list to see if they include polymers, such as Polysilicone. If they are there, then you have a tubing mascara.

2. Probably the easiest way to identify one is by reading the removal instructions. The instructions will indicate you only need warm water to remove, rather than makeup remover.

Tubing mascaras are still fairly limited in terms of range, so make your life easier, I've rounded up the top Tubing Mascaras out there:

No 7 Stay Perfect Mascara

This mascara is smudge, flake, sweat, humidity and tear proof and all at a great price!

Just one thing to note:

Tubing mascaras are fantastic products. However, if you're looking for volume these will not work for you. The tubing effect is designed to add thickness and length rather than volume. There are a couple of ways around this though!

- Use your normal volumising mascara and then apply the tubing mascara over it. This will set your whole lashes whilst you still have the volumising effect from your other mascara.

- Try tight-lining your lash line to create the visual illusion of a thicker lash line.
